Circa 1914 Philadelphia Toboggan Company jumper with elevated head on a
neck crested with a tousled mane. As described in a 1992 Guernsey's auction
brochure this horse last operated on a carousel owned by Royal American
Shows. The figure shows an unusual amount of decoration relative to his
position on the inner row of the carousel. A saddle with recurved fore edge
and scroll back cantle rests on an incurved blanket and a bordered and textured
underblanket. The horse is further harnessed of a wide bordered breastband,
peytral and breeching. Presenting in good condition and in white primer
ready to paint. 52 inches long. |
