In the unadorned country fair style of the Circa 1885 carousels this figure from the Armitage-Herschell carousel factory in North Tonawanda, New York. The horse is an outside row jumper and displays an alert sweetly expressive face and an upright neck with floaty mane. A floating saddle with carved grape cluster on the cantle rests on a simple blanket and is complemented with a scalloped breastband. In very good condition with bit rings and stirrup holders this figure is one of the rare ones which presents very well in the natural wood. 50 long x 48 high.
