| 930-3 - Hubner - $4200 Rare late 1800s German jumper in distressed old dry paint. The horse features a finely delineated head with a sweet open-eyed expression on an unusually elongated and gracefully carried neck. Noteworthy are the trappings composed of applied bentwood, the dozen or so metal applique tassels and jewel keepers, the mirrored escutcheon on the neck strap and the upholstered saddle stuffed with horsehair. The outstretched forelegs retain the original attachments for the "rocking style " carousel mechanism. Seam separations and park repair to left rear leg. The figure has glass eyes, old leather reins, bit rings and stirrups. Simple stand included. 63 long x 48 high. |
