Circa 1910 patriotically themed carousel figure from the Wooden Horse
Ranch of Col. C.W. Parker in Abilene, Kansas. An exuberantly swirled mane
in high relief crests the arched neck of the pale grey outside row jumper
whose trappings include a double layered peytral, a rippled American flag
issuing from beneath the saddle and a smiling fish peeking from behind
the cantle. Glass eyes, natural horsehair tail, very good condition. See
"Painted Ponies, Manns, Shank & Stevens, page 187 for nearly
identical figure. 48 long x 46 high. 36 body.
